excellent parks and convenient access to local attractions
I loved how easy it was to walk to Jesus Green for some peaceful park views, and being just a short stroll away from the stunning King's College Chapel made my explorations all the more enjoyable. I found the hotel to be simply furnished but very clean with welcoming staff, making my stay quite pleasant.

Comfy bed in a quiet room made for a solid night’s sleep. Large free car park right on site made for easy access throughout the stay.
The exterior looked neglected right from the start, which wasn’t promising. The room had surfaces covered in thick dust and discolored shower grout needing serious attention. Breakfast inclusion wasn’t clear upfront, though the continental spread was quite good. Check-in was a hassle—having to go to another location and waiting for someone added unnecessary frustration to the arrival experience. The decor definitely needs an update, and some features felt more basic than I would’ve liked for the price. it felt like just another day on a dusty spaceship with the occasional turbulence.

Checked in at the Arundel House Hotel, which was a bit of a hassle but manageable. The car park at Ashley Hotel is spacious and free. The room was clean and had decent heating. I appreciated the ample tea and coffee options available in the room. Breakfast was a highlight, with a good selection and made to order. My cooked breakfast was delicious, especially the perfectly fried eggs. The location was convenient for walking into the city center. On the downside, the room felt a bit dated and the bathroom needed attention—especially the drains, which had a noticeable smell. Customer service could use improvement. I felt a lack of friendliness at checkout. Though minor, it made a difference. my stay had enjoyable aspects, but some areas need a refresh.

Had a blast with friends here! Great spot to explore the ADC Theatre and Scott Polar Research Institute. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfy. Don't miss the tasty breakfast! Just a heads up, check-in can be a little awkward since you have to head to the sister hotel.
One downside was the security issue with the key cards. ours opened two different rooms, which was a bit unsettling.
